Job Description:
We are seeking a Full-Time Field Technician for our Whitesburg, KY office. This person will aid in performing Phase I and II archaeological projects in the eastern United States. Candidates must have a minimum of an archaeological field school and 3 months of field experience working on survey, testing, and/or data recovery projects and be able to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (i.e., Phase I surveys on Appalachian Mountains). Candidates should also have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and execute new tasks. BA Anthropology or Archaeology required, prior work in Kentucky/West Virginia preferred.
The Candidate should have the ability to work closely and professionally with supervisors, co-workers and environmental staff, as well as be flexible in task responsibilities. Good interpersonal skills, orienteering skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Travel will be required.
