Apogee biologists completed an extensive two year macroinvertebrate sampling project at the Upper Tellico OHV Area in Cherokee County, North Carolina. Macroinvertebrates from the Tellico River and several tributaries were identified (EPT to species-level).
The project was a coordinated effort between Western Carolina University and the US Forest Service (USFS). A scientifically defensible survey report was completed for the project. The project was required to be finished within a two year period to meet project requirements. The project was finished within this scheduled time and was completed within budget.
This project provided Apogee important experience in working with the USFS and will guide our efforts on future projects conducted for USFS and other government agencies.
